Yield Champ

The Yield Champ Scrag mill utilitizes an optimized log turner and sharp chain feed system and minimum man power (only one man is needed to operate the Yield Champ). Once the log is through the 44”, 48” or 56” diameter saws (depending the customer’s requirements), the cant is rotated 90 degrees and then fed into a second saw(s). There it is cut into a three or four sided cant or into two cants and two slabs with the three saw option. This mill is available with Cooper EC-110 computer controlled saw setworks (which provides precise cutting of cants) with a CRT display as well as several options depending on customer needs including an infeed deck and slab recovery system.

The Precision Sharp Chain Scrag is similar in function to the Yield Champ, but it is designed for sawing only two sided cants for logs 12’ to 20’ in length using two 48” inserted tooth saws. The infeed scanners automatically set the log turner height and saw setworks. Then the double hold-down keeps the materials centered on the chains as it goes through the saw. The two sided cant can then be sent to an edger or gang saw for further breakdown.
